Belgrave School, part of Melrose Education, is delighted to announce a new partnership with Hartcliffe City Farm, giving learners the opportunity to explore outdoor learning and sustainability in a hands-on way.
As part of the partnership, learners will visit the farm weekly to take part in a variety of activities, including composting and food growing, which will support other areas of their learning such as cooking lessons.
The visits provide learners with a chance to understand where food comes from, explore eco-friendly practices, and enjoy the wellbeing benefits of spending time outdoors and connecting with nature.
Louisa Skinner, Executive Principal of Belgrave School, said:
“We are so pleased to be working with Hartcliffe City Farm. This partnership offers our learners exciting, practical experiences that help them link classroom learning with real-life skills. From composting to cooking, these opportunities not only support their education but also encourage independence, teamwork, and a deeper connection with the world around them.”
Tracey Storey, Executive Chair and CEO of Melrose Education, added:
“At Melrose Education, we are committed to building strong partnerships within the communities we serve. This collaboration with Hartcliffe City Farm is a fantastic example of how working together can create rich, real-world learning opportunities that inspire and empower young people.”
The school looks forward to seeing the partnership grow and to celebrating the many ways Hartcliffe City Farm will enrich the learning journeys of Belgrave’s learners.
